May's Mixtape - A Little Late, but Fully Loaded
Denver Daze into June Days: Behind Schedule, But On Beat

My apologies for the delay. It’s safe to assume you made it into June unscathed by my lateness, but it's already June, and here I am, finally delivering May's mixtape. My recent trip to Denver kept me busy, but I think this mixtape is worth the wait!
I enjoyed crossing off a major item on my bucket list: attending a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Better yet, I saw some of my best friends rock the stage for sold-out audiences for two nights. Between the rain on the first night and the sheer perfection of the second night, it was an experience to remember.
I witnessed a milestone moment for two dear friends during that unforgettable trip. Congratulations to Tom & Emily, who got engaged on stage during a very touching proposal during Lord Huron's soundcheck.
Speaking of Lord Huron, it only seemed fitting that their most recent release, “Ace Up My Sleeve,” from the motion picture "The Starling Girl" is the first on the mixtape, setting the tone with its resonating vocals and signature style. Following it up is Grace Ives' "Isn't It Lovely," a track that waves in perfectly with a sunny day or a moonlit night.
John Monroe & Field Music's "Sleeping on the Floor" brightens up an emotional journey, followed by "She's Gone Cold" by BC Camplight, offering a catchy beat to which you can't help but tap your feet.
Gaz Coombes' early monitor mix of "Turn The Car Around" brings a raw authenticity bound to help navigate life's uncertainties and heartbreaks while exploring loss, and the healing power of love, with a hint of optimism for the future.
Of course, I couldn't resist to including "Song We Used To Play" by Rangleklods, a perfect tune that will spike your own nostaglia, and "Celebrate Me" by Baxter Dury, which is an absolute must-listen.
There's a lot more where those came from, including the hypnotic rhythm of "Love's Dart" by Django Django, the lyrical prowess of Steve Mason's "The People Say," and the electronic vibes of "Moneyback" by Creep Show (John Grant, Stephen Mallinder, Benge and Phil Winter).
Wrapping up the list are some personal favorites like "Everyone's In Love With You” by Erlend Øye & Alex Ferreira, the melodious "Three Hours" by John Parish & Aldous Harding, and the entrancing DJ Koze edit of "The Universe" by Róisín Murphy. Blur’s first release since 2015. And, of course, "It's You" by LA Priest and Rob Grant & Lana Del Ray's "Lost at Sea" add the perfect finishing touch to this mixtape.
So, get your speakers ready, and let's dive into June with a medley of May's finest tunes.
